Research Interests

As a PhD student in Archaeology, my primary research interest is ancient monumental architecture, especially Greco-Roman, such as temples, theaters or porticos. The main geographic area where I conduct my analysis is Sicily and neighboring islands (e.g. Mozia) during the Hellenistic period. Both classical and digital analysis tools are employed to identify stylistic or technical aspects of Sicilian Architecture which might be linked to cultural innovations brought or borrowed from Italy, Greece or North Africa.

As a digital humanist, acquired web programming skills are helping me to develop specific tools to conduct my PhD research such as the calculation of metrological ratios which may govern planimetric design choices. As part of Ausonius research team, I was involved as a web developer in charge of the creation of the ‘ALEAM’ project website and database under the supervision of Hernán González Bordas and Nathalie Prévôt.

Thanks to GPR Human Past project funding, I am now working on designing a digital critical edition, project currently nicknamed ‘GRANIUS’, using TEI Publisher tool and XML technology to create this new web application.
