Research Interests

These last years, I had the opportunity to develop, validate and apply various methods to study the morphological and metric characteristic of growing individuals (from the prenatal period to puberty):

  • With the development of age estimation formulas based on hand bones radiographs through a multivariate analysis
  • With the study of the mandibular growth pattern, both in healthy and pathological children (i.e. affected with craniofacial microsomia), with a morphometric approach
  • With the development of a finite element model to numerically simulate mandibular advancement through the stimulation of orofacial muscles
  • With the morphometric evaluation of the hard palate growth pattern
  • With the evaluation of a new orthodontic treatment on the respiratory status of OSAS children
