Research Interests
My research focuses on the identification of lithic raw material management strategies during prehistoric period times. In this context, the sourcing of siliceous rocks, their procurement strategies, and the evaluation of their mechanical properties are considered essential for understanding the selection criteria of prehistoric human groups. To address these questions, I use an interdisciplinary approach in archaeometry combining prehistoric archaeology, geology, statistics, chemistry, and experimental archaeology.
I am now a postdoctoral researcher in PACEA UMR 5199, investigating the procurement strategies of quartz pebbles by the hominins of the Shungura Formation (Lower Omo Valley, Ethiopia, 2-2.3 Ma).
