Research Interests

I study prehistoric and recent human teeth to assess late human evolution and to characterize interactions between biological, environmental, and sociocultural changes. My current research interests include:

  • Evolutionary and microevolutionary trends in Upper Pleistocene and Holocene human populations
  • Characterization, variability and morphogenesis of dental morphology, factors of variation
  • Dental development, biorhythms and growth trajectories, stress identification
  • Biocultural interactions, food behaviors, environmental constraints, neolithization
  • 3D imaging techniques, histology and geometric morphometrics applied to dental anthropology
